it's funny, I've been thinking of the same idea of final fantasy/sailormoon parody for a long while XD (with Cloud, Squall and Tidus as the Starlights too )
only with Aeris as Sailormoon and Garnet as Sailor Saturn, since her short hairstyle kinda reminded me of Hotaru's

here's my take on the senshies anyway:
Sailormoon - Aeris
Tuxedo Mask - Zack
Mars - Tifa
Mercury - Rinoa
Jupiter - Yuffie
Venus - prolly either Selphie or Quistis
Saturn - Garnet (short hair)
Chibichibi moon - Eiko (since I can't see her as Zack and Aeris' child by all means, so I'm not so sure about Chibimoon).
Uranus - Paine
Neptune - Rikku
Pluto - Yuna (all the YRP as the outer senshies, yup ^^ I think it just fits well with Rikku and Paine cuz almost everyone I know pairs them together and Pluto has that long staff, similar to Yuna with her staves).

Star Fighter - Cloud
Star Maker - Squall
Star Healer - Tidus

rofl, when I mused on them with my sis we totally loled hard X3

I guess that's it
I too plan to make a whole series of fanworks based on that silly crossover, but I lack time and inspiration =X

Hah, I've wanted to do this forever too, great minds think alike, right ;D?

I originally picked Aerith for Sailor Moon, just because everyone thought of her as the main FF girl.
But than I thought; screw that, I'm doing this for me, because I love Sailor Moon and Final Fantasy.
That's why I picked Garnet for Sailor Moon, because she's my all time favorite FF girl.
Than Zidane was put into Tuxedo Mask's place for that reason.
Venus= Rinoa because Rinoa is happy like Venus, and I saw her dog cosplaying Artemis.
Mercury for Yuna because of their hair.
Jupiter for Aerith because of their hair.
Sailor Chibi Moon as Eiko, because it just went that way.
Than I just threw the other main FF girls into their parts and the starlights as the other main FF males.

Oh, I'm fair to lazy to finish this project, I just thought it'd be fun, I want to try and animate a little show for them as well, but that isn't happening for a while.

It's alright.

I thought bout Aeris cuz IMO the other FF girls don't have the kind of presence that she has. I mean..my fave's gotta be Yuna, but nevertheless she does have all those dull and stupid comments that won't fit the character that much (although Usagi is a klutz and a crybaby and stupid yada yada yada ;XD ).
Aeris is sweet and innocent, and I liked her character in the end.

and on a second thought...I guess Marlene could make a cute Chibiusa and Denzel a fine Helios.
and so is the little affair (if you can call it that way) between Seiya and Usagi near the end of Sailor Stars, it could fit with Aeris and Cloud..it was a brief romance after all =] (even though I can't really say they were actually in love )

well..it's just my way of thinking

about animating it - sounds great to me(and yes, that's a lotta hard work ;XDDD ) and I know about many who actually ripped the original cast from the OP and ED videos and swapped them with other characters from other series/of their own.
it's called [MAD] I think (you can look up at Youtube and see for yourself) ^_^
